Aloha and the breath of life

What do I try to pass on during my courses, my training classes and my coaching sessions based on the spirit of the Ho’oponopono ritual? It’s the “Spirit of Aloha”.
Not “my breath” but the breath of life.
“Spirit of Aloha”. What about the true meaning of the word “Spirit”… Do you notice the resemblance with “ respiration”? In fact, to “live in spirit” is to be aware that we are ‘inspired’, in the most ‘literal’ sense of the word. Well, to realize this, all we must do is to observe that we don’t inspire by ourselves. We may indeed have the impression that breathing is something personal and voluntary. In fact, it’s an illusion, in fact “something” is breathing us in and out.
The proof is that when a human being exhales “his last breath” he does not choose to leave his present form. The end of the breathing process is not a personal decision. When we ceases to “be inspired”, life leaves the body and our whole being go back to the state of raw material.Humans share this with all creation. The entire universe is inspired and exhaled by Life.
Our words have lost their Breath.
Unfortunately, we forget the origin of the words we use every day. “Spirit”, “Holy Spirit”, “spiritual”, “spirituality”, spirituality,…all these words all have for same origin the Latin word: “SPIRARE” which means “to breathe”.
The word “Aloha” also has an important root, the syllable “HA” which goes even further in reminding us that we are anchored in the vital breath. “Ha” is the sound we make when we breathe out. It is even more analogic that the Latin verb.
“Ha” is the sound of the seed of life, as is “OM”. OM is the vibration produced by our vocal chords when we open our mouths as wide as we can and let air flow out then close our lips in an humming sound… The O is the natural symbol of “zero”… Don’t ask why we speak of OM-nipresence, OM-niscience and OM-nipotence. It’s a way to evoke the attributes of the creative Spirit of the UNI-VERSE.
Only ONE vital breath.
The heart of the “Aloha spirit” is therefore the vital breath. Why is this word used in Hawaii as a ‘greeting’? Because it expresses a common awareness of the breath. Just as ‘NAMASTE’ recalls the awareness of a common divine identity…
Greeting the divine breath in another person or greeting God in a human being is the same thing. It’s a reminder of our true “identity”: our ONENESS. Don’t we breathe the same air? And when we breathe in and out, where are the frontiers between the outside and the inside?
Unfortunately, we have lost the natural meaning of words. Let remember this universal law : “In the beginning was the Word…”. See, you don’t have to go very far to find open secrets, just pay attention to the words we use every day…
“In the beginning was the word”.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In the beginning he was in God. Through him all things were made, and without him was not made anything that exists.”
So, what does this say about the language we use every day? Without air how could we talk?
In the Peace of I.
