Ho’oponopono ; what about our “Inner Child”?
The Ho’oponopono adapted by Morrnah Simeona considers the “Unihipili”, which means for her the “Inner Child” as the key for the harmony of our triune Self (Aumakua, Uhane and unihipili).
In the pedagogic description of Morrnah, the Unihipili (Inner Child) corresponds to our subconscious or unconscious mind, the Uhane (Mother) to the conscious aspect and the Aumakua (Father of the inner family, the superconscious).
Born in paradise
When we consider our life objectively we see that a large part of our everyday life is ruled by unconscious activities and parameters. At birth, if the process is fluid all this “backstage” system is built to work in perfect harmony (I will not consider here cases of newborn babies with disabilities or physical problems, it would need a much longer explanation)…
When the baby comes out of the body of his mother it is supposed to adapt automatically to his new environment : breath working, heart pumping, blood going around, oxygen moving in, CO2 moving out and taken care by the vegetal world…Let say, it’s conform to the image of a kind of “Paradise”.
There is a “but” on the way…Nature do the job mathematically but what about humans…?On it’s way of evolution the soul of the child is expecting to continue to walk the paradisiac trail…That’s where frustrations (called “ Fall”) have chances to happen…
During the starting state, Superconscious, conscious and unconscious are working as a unit without borders. The power of life is flowing freely . But mother, father and all humans around the child will create a state of inner fragmentation.
The “Fall”
When meeting experiences that do not fit with inner expectations of harmony, the soul will register a shock. Having around negative or abusive parents, not being loved and rewarded, facing harsh judgements,…,the conflictive energy created by such situations will need to be stored somewhere.
That’s the moment when the Inner Child, already doing all the background job will become also in charge of the affective trash box of the family. That’s the only way to keep the conscious mind able to do its job. Without somebody taking charge of the garbage the whole family would evolve dangerously…(that’s what happen in what we call “madness”).
Except for a few people who had a perfect childhood we all share our everyday lives with a wounded inner child walking at our side. Almost all sicknesses including cancer and atypic troubles result from a conflict between the harmonious cosmic duty of the subconscious and his garbage maintenance service.
Double work of the inner child
If you dig within yourself, you will find that you are not an exception. If you look even closer you will see that all the content of the trash box is emotional…When the level of the trash becomes overwhelming happens what we call “burn-out”.In such cases, the smoke of the emotional trash burning in needs a vent to avoid an implosion…
How many years did we live with this wounded kid inside us without noticing his native right to be fully happy…We usually complain about our work, our life, our boss, our condition, our health or any excuse we find to keep our blindness active but it’s all about the child.
It’s not a metaphor. We really host our frozen childhood. If we look back in a conscious dream state, we will find our poor self hidden in a dark corner of our mind…All social problems, all wars are starting there, in this dark zone of our memories.
No therapy needed
But we do not need to investigate, we do not have to go back in time to find responsibilities, the child is only able to live now, in the same present as ourselves. In this “reality”, what are our dearest expectations? : To be free to express our gut feelings, to be taken care of and to be loved…
That’s the function of the Inner Mother or Uhane. Does the real human mother attributed to the child really embody this feminine ideal? To make understandable the power of this nurturing energy humans have created symbolic images like Mother Mary in the christian world, Kannon in Buddhism,Hina in Hawaii and around the world almost all feminine deities expressing unconditional love .
The problem is that people see those representations as out of reach divinities…In fact, they are just reminders about what life should be…
Remember your first steps in this world, ask yourself what have been then the deepest expectations of your heart? Do you imagine how it would have been to feel loved and nurtured unconditionally? Can you figure out the kind of evolution resulting from an education expressing this welcoming power? That’s what happen when inner family is harmonious.
The Ho’oponopono of Morrnah Simeona helps us understand that our actual condition is the result of the reflection of our outside family in the mirror of our soul.
