The Key to the ultimate meditation.

Most meditations techniques are active. They involve doing something, thinking something, imagining, visualizing, breathing in a certain way… The same applies to prayer : speak, ask, complain…

Life is not a DIY kit.

How were we conceived, created, and developed? Did we need to “participate”, to control something? Creation did not give us a body in kit to assemble by ourselves. The Creator did not say to us: “Here’s a box of cells, you’re on your own”. This heart, these organs, these muscles, these bones… we would have had a hard time building all that from scratch…

We’ve more or less figured out how to put a sperm cell and an ovula together, but what happens next? We still don’t know and we’re not about to find it out. On the other hand, once we’ve finally managed to land on this plane of life, we think we’re autonomous and able to assert truths about our own identity and about life… We think we’re able to answer the question “Who am I?” easily.

But life is not limited to an identity card, an history, a family, a profession, or a complex of ambitions…All that is just a passport, a driving license…When we enter and leave this “life plan” we have no choice but to “let it g »o. The only choice we have is to accept what is happening to us…

We’ve created lots of names to describe the Creative Power that eludes us. As if it were necessary to name the “mystery of life”. We’ve tried to make it our own by naming it, and all we’ve done is cut ourselves from it. We have created a distance by moving away from the absolute trust and letting go that were our initial life parameters.

There is no superiority in being human.

Believing that we have freed ourselves from the weight of matter through the superiority of our spirit, we have created the heaviest of all servitudes: responsibility. We don’t even realize that we are neither responsible for the process of creating a living being nor for its dissolution… So why not imitate the other kingdoms of nature? Minerals, plants, animals… They just ARE. And it’s always very successful. A volcano needs nothing more than to be its natural imbedded power and a grain of wheat has everything it needs to produce an ear of wheat. It lacks neither soil, nor mineral salts, nor water, nor sun, nor even time…

On the other hand, humans almost always feel that something is missing to make them more of what they think they should be. To get it, they turn to “having more”. But when the body declines, it is obliged to leave behind everything it has managed to possess. This is how we lose our life by trying so hard to resolve its mystery. Spirituality’ in this area is undoubtedly the worst approach.

And why is that? Because we assume that the powerg that animates us is not doing its job and that we urgently have to solve our « life problem ». We will only discover our identity by surrendering to the inner ‘know-how’ of Life. Total « Letting go » is the most effective of all meditations and prayers techniques. Leaving behind words, ideas, meanings, we just need to give back consciously our breath to to the Source of All.

We are the heart of the mystery.

Identity of Self cannot be found; it is and will remain impossible to understand it because we are it. We are able to see the reflection of our external appearance in a mirror, but we never will be able to see our true SELF reflected.

Arbitrarily describing the chemical composition of a river does not unlock the secret of the flow that drives it, and even less find the nature of its source. Believing in understanding ourselves is an illusion, and illusions are incapable of transporting the slightest atom from one point to another… But the rivers that irrigate our bodies instinctively know where they need to go to keep us functional.

Let’s stop this frenzy of wanting to do and control everything. Let’s stop even talking. Let the world happen by itself without even dreaming to control it. This is the key to the simplest of all meditations: touch nothing, control nothing and listen to the breath that animates what we embody: that is self-identity…

Then perhaps we will finally be able to penetrate to become the heart of the mystery of what we are and to live it, naturally… Rather than trying to speak THE WORD indiscriminately, let listen to its apparent silence. It will reveal that we need nothing more than being what we are, to feel in harmony with the rest of Creation.
